Matron Margaret Mannah is a midwife specialist with over 30 years of midwifery experience at clinical, academic and public health institutions. Matron Mannah is currently the Program Manager for the National Quality Management Programme within the Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health Directorate at the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MoHS) where she leads the MoHS Quality Agenda to improve patient experience. She is also currently an associate lecturer at the College of Medicine and Allied Health Science in Sierra Leone. Matron Mannah is passionate about  teaching, research and policy development in the midwifery space. Prior to her work at the MoHS, she served as the Country Midwife Adviser and Midwifery Specialist at the Women’s Reproductive Cluster for the UNFPA Sierra Leone Country office where she provided technical guidance on the development of the National Nursing and Midwifery Policy, the National Midwifery Strategy and the Midwifery Operational Plan. By fostering collaborations among midwives, community leaders and government agencies, Margaret serves as a link across sectors to improve maternal and newborn health. Matron Mannah holds a Master’s degree in Internal Public Health and Sexual Reproductive health from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine in the United Kingdom.
