Dr. Tlaleng Mofokeng is a medical doctor and a sexual and reproductive health and rights expert and currently serves as a UN Human Rights Council Special Rapporteur on the Right to Health. She is also an SRHR Expert and Distinguished Lecturer at the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law. Her expertise is in public health, comprehensive sexuality education, training and facilitation, and content production. Amongst others, she has global advocacy experience at the UN Human Rights Council, UN Commission for Population Development, and the United States Senate. She is a board member of several initiatives including the Safe Abortion Action Fund and the Global Advisory Board for Sexual Health and Wellbeing. She facilitated advocacy training for Global Doctors for Choice and Global Health Strategies. She holds a Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Medicine from the Nelson Mandela School of Medicine, University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, Durban.
