Summary: Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) are nationally-representative household surveys that provide data for a wide range of monitoring and impact evaluation indicators in the areas of population, health, and nutrition. The DHS collects information on maternal health, including antenatal, delivery and postnatal care, maternal mortality, and components of newborn care and newborn mortality. The DHS Data Portal includes national data from over 90 countries summarized into country reports, key findings reports, and comparative and analytic reports. Additionally, the Portal provides step-by-step guidelines for further analysis of datasets and the DHS STATcompiler allows users to make custom tables based on demographic and health indicators.
